The Courts Support the Archbishop

American law recognises the right of the Church to expect its employees to behave, at least in public, in support of Catholic teaching. A Catholic school is permitted to favour a Catholic over a non-Catholic, and the Indiana Supreme Court dismissed the idea that every Catholic can decide for himself what he should believe and how he should behave. “No power save that of the Church can rightfully declare who is a Catholic.”
