Rally for Life in Dublin Draws Thousands
08.07.2019
On Saturday, July 6, thousands of pro-lifers from across Ireland gathered in Parnell Square and then marched down O’Connell Street to the Custom House beside the river. Leading speakers condemned the Simon Harris abortion (out-) law, and the corruption of medicine in hospitals. Dr Trevor Hayes, an obstetrician in St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny told the crowd that his department has refused to perform medical or surgical abortions in defiance of
government orders. The media all but ignored the event. The Sunday Times devoted a brief note, the size of a matchbox, to the event. The Sunday Independent was not much better, and RTE was as bland as a weather forecast.
