How to Deal with Stressful Thoughts
30.08.2019
There are indications that some GPs are suffering from anxiety arising out of the extra work they have chosen at the start of 2019. The source of these indications is the Royal College of General Practitioners, a group distinct from the Irish College of General Practitioners. As the name tells you, it is a UK group, founded in 1952, with 50,000 members including an Irish branch or “faculty”, and claims up to 700 members in the RoI, Two evening sessions in Dublin and Galway during October will be directed by an American guru, Byron Katie, who discovered how to overcome her depression and devised a self-awareness programme, named “the work”. She now has a large following in the US and elsewhere, including Ireland. She and a facilitator will show doctors how to make stressful thoughts like guilt and anger disappear.
