Father Pavone Laicised

20.01.2023

Probably you may have heard about the Vatican’s laicisation last December of Father Frank Pavone, the founder and head of Priests for Life for the last three decades. You probably have heard that Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the former head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, slammed the laicisation as unjustified and unwarranted.

Some pro-life observers wonder if there perhaps was some fault on both sides in the situation, and if the laicisation could have been avoided at the last.

Some pro-lifers also speculate that on her several visits to Rome in recent years, then Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi might have lobbied certain figures in the Vatican to “rid me of this meddlesome priest” who so persistently and effectively has urged her and all Catholic pro-abortion politicians to repent and to reform their ways.

Frank Pavone’s Plans

Frank Pavone is abiding by the laicisation, continuing to head Priests for Life and hoping and praying for re-instatement someday. As of our deadline, he was planning to hold a prayer service and protest outside Planned Parenthood in downtown Washington, DC, on Thursday, January 19. He was also planning to give the keynote address on the morning of January 20 at the 28th annual National Prayer Service (National Memorial for the Pre-Born and Their Mothers and Fathers) at the venerable DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Constitution Hall, just down the street from the White House complex.
