Abortion Industry Seeks European Support

Since US President Donald Trump reinstated the Mexico City Policy preventing US foreign aid being used to fund abortions, a campaign has been underway for donations to replace the US funds. A number of countries have pledged financial support to She Decides, a fund established by the Netherlands to assist abortion NGOs most impacted by the policy. At the top of the NGO list are abortion industry giants International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Marie Stopes International (MSI). IPPF estimates it will lose $100 million in USAID funding.
On March 2, Belgium, hosted an international “She Decides” conference in Brussels along with the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. The four countries have committed a combined $32 million to replace US funds. Ministerial delegations from many other countries took part, with Luxembourg, Finland, Canada and Norway among those supporting the initiative.
“The [Norwegian] government is increasing its support for family planning and safe abortion by 85 million Norwegian Krone (€9.5 million) compared with 2016,” Prime Minister Erna Solberg said.
