In 2019, Archbishop Thompson of Indianapolis, the capital of the state of Indiana, asked two Catholic schools in his diocese not to renew the contract for two teachers who had chosen to marry “in flagrant violation” of Catholic teaching in 2017. One was the Cathedral High School, the second Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School.
