Deluge of Complaints Leads ASA to Investigate Marie Stopes

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has launched a formal investigation into an ad for abortion business Marie Stopes International (MSI) after being inundated with complaints from the public. In an announcement on its website, the ASA said it has received over 1,000 complaints about the ad, broadcast on Channel 4. “We have launched a formal investigation and will publish our findings as soon as practicable. Due to the high volume of complaints, we are unable to enter into individual dialogue or correspondence with complainants about the investigation,” the Authority announced.
